Mortgage 101

hawk-copyDon’t assume that your credit is or is not good enough to buy a home. You just might be surprised. It is essential to speak with a loan officer! The pre-approval process is not very complicated and is a necessary step: a seller will rarely consider an offer that is not pre-approved. Also, don’t assume that paying off your credit cards prior to a credit check is a good move. While paying off debt is always a good thing, when you’re trying to get financing,  ask the loan officer to advise you of the best steps to take.

A good piece of advice:  don’t charge large items on credit while you are trying to get financing, even if you already have received a pre-approval from your loan officer. Every debt accumulated can change your situation.
Once you have received a pre-approval letter from a loan officer to purchase a home, things get really exciting. Now you can start seriously shopping!
